The Problem of Nationalism: The Moral Dimension

Nationalism did not figure prominently as a philosophical problem till recntly. Among the many dimensions of nationalism, the paper explores the moral dimensions of the phenomenon. It looks at some questions like, "Is nationalism a reasonable doctrine?," "Is it amenable to moral reasoning or is it a morally neutral concept?" The paper examines the issue of moral credibility of nationalism by consiering the views of thinkers Partha Chatterjee, David Archard, Isaiah Berlin etc.
